It has been hot lately. More people are showing up for the 9 AM workouts to avoid the afternoon heat. It has been a bit crowded and more fun with the energy in the box.
Yesterday and today we did individual workouts with some tough components. Today’s workout is a repeat from last month. We will use it to check our progress.
It consists of 6 rounds of 3 minutes on and 3 minutes off. For me, it is a 200m run, followed by 5 deadlifts and max burpees to a box. I am working on my form for the deadlifts – getting my back flat and shoulders back – so I am lifting from 6” boxes. It was 8” last time so I am making good progress.
Even though it is 9 AM, it is hot outside, and I am soaking in sweat by the end of the first round. It is a fun – though very tough – workout with a good group of people. I really pushed it and felt super once I catch my breath. I do some extra work on my core because this week I’ve been feeling all the activation while doing the workouts. That is really good, because in the past I would not remember to activate my core and I would let power leak from my body. The things you learn doing cross fit… It is amazing. Also, Dani gave me a great tip about my elbows doing deadlifts. It really helped.
